Meet volunteers at airport and join as a group at a designated waiting location as some volunteers may be arriving later in the day. After all volunteers are together we travel as two groups to the elephant conservation center in north Bengkulu approximately 4 hours.

Morning
Wake up bright and early for activities helping elephant carers do their daily work. Help with the morning baths for the elephants.

Afternoon
English teaching sessions with the elephant carers. Helping with bathing the elephants and collecting food for the elephants to see them over for the evening.

Evening
Enjoy an Indonesian meal prepared by the locals and learn about conservation effort and how you can help. Prepared presentation.

Morning

Prepare for maintenance work for the next day

Evening
Volunteers cook a western meal for the elephant carers

To improve the camp or maintain facilities for visitors like volunteers and other visitors. This work day will be focused on what is needed in or around the camp. To be completed over a half or full day depending on the work that is required.

Evening
Enjoy an Indonesian meal prepared by the locals

Ride with the elephant patrol into the TWA Seblat Conservation Area for two nights of camping and learn about the challenges that are faced by the patrol unit to protect the conservation area from poaching and illegal logging.
This is optional and if not comfortable can remain in the camp.

Arrive back from camping with the elephant patrol. Enjoy a day exploring the elephant conservation centre on your own time. Follow the elephant carers or rest and relax at the elephant camp.

Morning
Cross over to the nearby Sukabaru village for a school visit to teach the children english for practice. Remain in the village or return to camp for lunch.

Afternoon and Evening
Cross over again to the nearby Sukabaru village for cultural activities and see a traditional sumatran wedding ceremony.

Enjoy breakfast and last baths with the camp elephants before collecting our gear and heading back to the city of Bengkulu where you can enjoy the city or continue on with your travel plans.
